Special Edition Cars in Review: The Most Expensive Sports Car for 2025

Before we get into this week’s blog post, I just want to take some time out to wish my readers a belated Happy Easter. I hope the holiday brought some peace and happiness to all my readers surrounded by family of course. And I just want to mention this is ZeroLimits 100 blog post since this site was established! Thank you to everyone that continues to keep up with the blog posts I write and release and leaves comments on the posts here and interacts with me over on the socials. Writing for you all has been a joy and I can’t wait to keep doing this. So without further ado, let’s get into this week’s special edition – I figured why not give you all a treat? Since I wrote about hypercars last post I figured the perfect blog post for this week’s edition would be the most expensive sports car for 2025 so far. What is it you ask? Keep reading to find out!

I’m sure starting with a picture would be the best way to test your guessing skills, but that may mean some of you may go through google image search to figure out what car this is. So let’s start with a bit of writing first – I won’t give away the name of the car, but I will give clues to see if you can figure it out before I reveal it. Let’s start with some hints on the brand name of the car:

  • This car company hand makes their cars to order so that the car you get is exclusively your own
  • Painting these cars can be quite tricky so this is left to the robots in production (that is to say the only robots you will find on the production floor). And to get the mirror like finish on these vehicles, five layers of paint are applied
    • In total it takes 7 days and over 45K gallons of paint to finish the exterior of one car
  • Night time can be brought inside the car! – 1,340 individually hand woven optical fibers are used to mimic the starry night sky across the top of the interior of this car. Plus on some models, you can ask them to install shooting stars (which is more meant for the front passenger to enjoy but still a really cool feature nonetheless)

Guessed it yet? Don’t worry, these were more fun facts on the brand but I won’t tease you anymore. The most expensive sports car for 2025 currently is the Rolls Royce La Rose Noire Droptail. Before we reveal the price tag on one of these, let’s see how many were actually made. According to Rolls Royce, there were only 4 cars ever produced, honestly making this car super rare as well. Okay now for the price tag, are you ready? In Canada, one of these cars will be sold at over $33M.

Okay have you fallen off your seat yet? If not here’s a picture of the car just to add to the already slight heartache you felt coming on…..

Beautiful I know! But let’s get into the full details of this car now, starting with the reason this car is so expensive.

Besides it sporting a Rolls Royce branded icon in the middle of the front hood, there are other reasons why this car is so pricey:

  • It’s not all about the material! – Artistry is what contributes to the hefty price tag this car carries around
  • Time is a precious thing, haven’t you heard? – The amount of time invested in making this vehicle from scratch as per each customized order is very lengthy, hence the production starting years in advance to it actually being completed and sold
  • Rare and skilled expertise needed to bring this beauty to life – Only the best of the best are selected to work on these cars – and yes, Rolls Royce only hires the most articulate people to work on their cars
  • Can I get a watch with that please? – A custom designed watch by Audemars Piguet is mounted to the dash and can be removed and worn
  • Oh! Did someone say champagne? – A champagne storage compartment that stores the beverage (at the correct temperature) from the clients own vineyard

Of all of the cars Rolls Royce has created and sold, La Rose Noire Droptail has to be the one that was the most extensive – in all processes involved in it’s creation.

Inspiration Behind the Name

La Rose Noire Droptail takes its inspiration from the Black Baccara Rose – a velvet like flower that is grown in France and is adorned by the Rolls Royce family’s matriarch – in every sense. Internally, a tribute to the rose is seen through the design – 1,603 pieces of black sycamore wood trim veneer to be exact – that is used to create the “rose petals in the wind” effect. Externally, the car’s dark color palette consisting of red and black mixed together – dark red highlights and unique black brightwork – and the shape of the car as a whole – the angled up facing elements of the grille and the 3D lower air intake.

When it comes to the warranty and maintenance packages, although the price for this car is very high Rolls Royce stands behind their cars and offers a 4 year unlimited mileage warranty on all it’s cars including this one from the date of the cars first retail or registration. Service packages are also available which covers the basic maintenance at authorized service centres. In addition to all of this, there is also an extended warranty package that is available. This would cover mechanical and electrical defects after the initial warranty expires.

Final Thoughts

All around this car is very unique and the craftsmanship is beyond compare – not something you will find at any other luxury car dealership in existence. Clearly beauty costs money! If you could own one of these beauties, is there anything else you want to add to the car? Let us know in the comments below and since you made it this far, why not check out the post we released a couple of years ago that covers the brief history of the Rolls Royce Company and one of their other popular cars – the Phantom – linked here.
