That’s Worth A Double Look! – Car Tips and More
Nissan GTR r35 – My Dream Car
I am in LOVE with the Nissan GTR r35! It has been my dream car since I can remember and let me just say I didn’t think it could get any more beautiful but the first picture really has me lovestruck. Not only is it rare to see a Nissan GTR r35 on the road but its once in a blue moon (it feels like in Toronto anyways) seeing a modified version. One day down the road when I finally have enough money to purchase one of these cars, it’s going to be the happiest day of my life.
The Fast and Furious movies played a minor part in my love for this car but it was through pure exploration and fascination (once discovered) that really made me want to get one. The Audi S5 Reiger shown below, is also another beautiful car and modifications made to it really helps it to stand out.
Car Modifications – What would REALLY make my car look good?
So, what modifications would make my car look good you ask? Well that’s a simple question! Below are a few pictures of parts that can be modified to be added to your vehicles and if the job is done right, the vehicle will look STUNNING. Let’s start with the rims, in my opinion black rims make the car look really good no matter what the color of the vehicle may be. People also tint their cars but make sure to stay within the legal limit (30% in Ontario) – as of January 1, 2017. Other ways that the car can be modified include the following: car wraps, modified headlights and taillights, spoilers, and racing stripes, but don’t let the ways listed be the limit, because remember there are virtually Zero Limits to the amount of things that can be done to your car!
Do your research!
Did you know that car modifications have a direct impact on your insurance? For people that need their cars to be retrofitted for accessibility reasons, most insurance companies will cover the cost. However, if modifications were made in terms of design looks (lowered suspension, changing the engine – performance enhanced modifications) then insurance companies will not cover the cost. This is because through the addition of modified parts the overall value of the vehicle is impacted as well as the cost to repair it if it were to get into an accident. Just make sure to check with your insurance company to see what is covered and what is not because its always best to know beforehand then to be stuck paying out of pocket after!
Car Maintenance Tips for Winter
The most hated time of year for car lovers by far has to be WINTER. I mean sure there’s snow and many would argue that the road is ‘telling them to drift in the snow’ but all the summer cars – the ones you spent SO MUCH time and money making look nice – have to go away now, and its back to driving basic regular cars because of the road conditions. However, I want to outline some tips for car lovers (and owners in general) about maintaining cars in the Winter.
Tips for Car Lovers! – Keep those project cars safe!
- Starting your car in the Winter – If you have a car that sits on the driveway throughout Winter because it can’t be driven, make sure to start it once a week (at least) to make sure all the fluids are still running through like they should and to keep the car in optimal condition for when its ready to be driven again
- Keep your car battery charged! – You will never know the strength of the car battery until it’s too late – when your stuck on the side of the road on one of the most coldest days in winter history to date and help is taking FOREVER to get there. Check them before the cold temperatures arrive so you know exactly what steps you need to take
- Wash your car in the Winter – I’m sure I don’t have to mention this because everyone gets annoyed of “Winter” being on their car (snow, salt, slush) at some point but it’s an important part of taking care of your car – not only does it make it look all pretty (in comparison to other vehicles on the road) but it prevents rust, especially if the car is given a good wash and wax before the weather gets bad
- Do I Need Winter tires? – Honestly, it’s up to you and your driving habits. They are recommended as they make a big difference in driving performance and keep you safe on icy roads but they aren’t enforced by law to be on the vehicle
Keep in Mind!
- Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle AT ALL TIMES – No matter what the season may be, an emergency kit is necessary – it just helps when unexpected things happen
- The emergency kit may look a little different depending on the season but some essentials include: first aid kit, a flashlight, a blanket, jumper cables, non perishable food, and water
- It goes without saying that windshield wipers, heaters, car oil, and the radiator should all be checked beforehand to ensure they are working and don’t need to be altered
