The 5-Speed Manual Transmission is Nearly Extinct – What You Need to Know
About 70 years ago times were a lot different than now. Most of the things we take for granted today were just being invented or discovered by curious people of those times and although many of them might have been told they were crazy, they still continued to pursue their dream. It is with many thanks to them today that they never quit because although they didn’t realize it then, the inventions would prove to be very useful today. Take the 5-speed manual transmission for example – one of the greatest inventions of all time. This first came available on the market in Europe during the 1950s being equipped in…

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
With the year just starting it’s hard to think so far into the future, but in the automotive world, you can never think too far ahead. Ford is already introducing the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse and I have to say it looks very sexy…for a car. It has so many defined and jaw dropping features, making this a very stylish car overall. It will be available for purchase in the Summer of 2023, and trust me, despite the frigid Canadian weather we have been having, Summer is not that far away. This version is powered by a 228-horsepower flat-four engine and comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission although a six-speed automatic transmission is available. A flat-four engine (also known as a horizontally-opposed 4 engine), is exactly what it sounds like – a flat engine with 4 cylinders arranged horizontally in two banks on each side of the crankcase. The pistons are normally…

In Loving Memory – Ken Block
It is with a heavy heart that I break the news of Ken Block’s death. Some of you may know him from his Hoonigan episodes, some may know him from his stunt videos but however you know him, the pain shared in the automotive world is immaculate. Ken Block died January 2, 2023 from a snowmobile accident. The Wasatch County Sheriff Office in Utah confirmed Block’s death with a statement that read in part, “On January 2, 2023 at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Wasatch County 911 Center received a call reporting a snowmobile accident in the Mill Hollow area…The driver, Kenneth Block, 55-year-old male out of Park City, Utah, was…

Rolls-Royce Phantom – The No. 1 Luxury Car in the World
Happy New Year to my dedicated readers and newcomers. I hope you had a great holiday season and here’s to keeping New Year’s resolutions this year! Hopefully, this year brings you health, wealth, and everything you want. Here’s to another successful year for all. ~~~ Rolls-Royce actually started out as a mechanical and electrical business in 1884 run by Henry Royce, believe it or not. He went on to build his first motor car in 1904 and in May met a man by the name of Charles Rolls who sold quality cars at the company he worked at. The two came to an agreement later on that ‘Royce Limited’ would…
